If you are a dealer or specialist shop, an OEM-level diagnostic tool will usually beat a general-purpose scanner. The same applies if your local distributor offers technical support that a direct-to-shop brand cannot match. Support and training are part of the total cost, too.
What I recommend for the usual daily-use commercial shop is this: pick a battery accessory ecosystem, verify fitment for tow and diagnostic hardware before purchasing, and write down why you bought it. In my experience, the cheapest quote is only cheap when it's compatible, complete, and repeatable. The rest of the time, it's a teaser price on a rework invoice.
